Laura Morin has years of performance and jamming experience, and through lots of private lessons and practice has learned the joys of providing the bass line for a few different forms of music. She’s explored Americana, Folk, Celtic, Bluegrass, Early Jazz, Old-time Square Dance music, and more. Laura lives on a ranch near Baker City, Oregon with her husband and two boys.
Bass – lower intermediate to intermediate
I learn to play and sing using a combination of chord & lyric charts, by ear, and some written music. I will teach you this way. We will have fun with different exercises and concepts throughout the week with plenty of chances to practice jamming! Bring lots of questions and we will shed light on the skill sets and familiarity needed to get you playing the upright string bass. I have at least one extra bass you can practice on if you don’t have one.
