Carla Arnold (fiddle, guitar, mandolin) is a retired Elementary Music Teacher for the La Grande School District (30 years). She currently directs after-school fiddle clubs and is active in a local folklore organization promoting participant involvement in music and dance. Carla also hosts a monthly Irish session. She and her husband (David) enjoy performing together as a duo.
Carla had been the director of the Wallowa Fiddle Tunes Camp for seven years, and is excited to return again to support the camp in the role of an instructor. This year she will again teach Kidz Fiddle, using her skills in connecting with and making music with kids of various skill levels with the outcome of learning new, fun tunes while encouraging the development of a strong ear.
Kidz Fiddle, minimum 1 year experience
Full day class (new) Not intended for a complete beginner, this is a class for kids who have a minimum of one year of experience with the fiddle. Melodies will be taught by rote as well as reinforced through fiddle tablature. Songs will be sung, games will be played, and outside activities are included in the course of the day.
