Amy Fairchild is an educator, pianist, vocalist, recording artist, and composer who is living her dreams in Joseph, Oregon. She gets to hang out with amazing young people almost all the time as the creator and Director of Eagle Cap Youth Musicals (a program of the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance), as a theatre instructor at Enterprise School, and as a piano and voice teacher in her home studio. Amy’s music has taken her to the International Composers Festival in the UK, and she has released three albums of original music as an ASCAP artist (Serendipities, 2021; Beneath the Surface, 2022; and What Christmas Means, 2024). Her piano compositions are beloved by many teachers across the US and Canada. Amy loves to write, compose, and direct musicals for youth and has premiered five original musicals between 2022 and 2025 at the Historic OK Theatre in Enterprise, and at Wallowa School as part of Fiddle Tunes camp. Mini-Musical Theatre Camp, ages 6-12, half day
Join other young performers (open to ages 6 – 12) in this year’s mini-musical entitled, “The Wandering Wonderbeans!” This goofy short musical follows two long-suffering teen scout leaders as they embark on an adventure leading their seven eclectic scouts into the woods for their first overnight backpacking trip. However, Nature (the forest animals, and their friends “Sunny,” “Stormy,” and “Birch”) is out to get the scouts, because of how poorly other backpackers have treated their stretch of the forest in the past. Imagine a camping trip where your map is pilfered by a naughty squirrel, the weather refuses to cooperate, poison ivy is draped across your path, and bloodthirsty mosquitoes haunt your every step. Hilarity ensues as the scout troop and Nature butt
heads in this new, original kids’ musical by Amy Fairchild.
Note: Class participation: Children 12 years of age or younger, who are attending an adult class, will need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone who is not attending a separate class. In the event that the child is negatively affecting the learning process for the class, the child will be reassigned if possible to a more developmentally age-appropriate class. Afternoon classes: Children ages 12 and under participating in morning-only classes will need adult supervision for the afternoon from 11:30 am on. The playground is available, but adult supervision will need to be in place. Families are encouraged to collaborate together and help each other out with child supervision.
