Old Time Radio Show format featuring the music of Hank Williams

The 12th annual Hootenanny and Shoo-fly Pie Social will be held on Sunday, May 19th at 4:00 pm. Wallowa Valley Music Alliance is proud to announce that this year’s theme is a tribute to the music of Hank Williams, Sr. This highly anticipated spring fundraiser will again be held at the Odd Fellows Hall, located at 105 NE 1st Street, Enterprise, Oregon.

Hank Williams, Sr. regularly appeared on the 1950’s WSM radio show, sponsored by Mother’s Best Flour. In honor of this, the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance will present Hank’s song in an Old Time Radio Show format complete with you, the live audience, sound effects and old-time commercials/jingles for our local sponsors: Blue Mountain Donuts, B Bright Vintage, M. Crow & Co, Winding Waters Clinic and Prairie Creek Quilts.

The Odd Fellows Hall will be transformed into an old-time radio set where the live “radio” audience will experience a great musical program with an all-star cast of local performers: Robyn & Mike Burns, Janis Carper, Amy Fairchild & Family, Terri Hall, Ted Hays, Sue Juve, The Local Yokels, Carolyn Lochert, Nick Porter, Heidi Muller & Bob Webb, Brian Oliver, John Raines, Caleb Samples, Trilby Shirley, Laura Skovlin, and Alyssa Werst Daggett.

Special guest emcee
For decades, Dan Maher was host of the Northwest Public Radio’s Inland Folk and is a highly talented and entertaining performer. He will be sharing his talent and stories as our featured special guest emcee.

Shoo-fly Pie Social and contest
Let’s not forget the Shoo-fly Pie Social and contest! Each year an impressive variety of home-baked goodness – contributed by pie bakers like you – are lined up for all to sample. One dollar buys you a slice and a vote for your favorite. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded based on the decision of the live audience. We encourage all attendees to bring their best pie and win a prize. Specially prepared pies will be auctioned during the show as well.

Sign-up with Carolyn Lochert (541)398-1089 to donate your homemade pie.
